GNCHR Participation in the EETT Seminar on Mobile Connectivity and Artificial Intelligence

The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR), represented by Dr. Christos Tsevas, Human Rights Advisor, participated in the training seminar entitled “Mobile Connectivity and the AI Revolution”, which was held on 22 January 2026 by the GSMA, in cooperation with the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT).

The seminar was attended by representatives from seven European regulatory authorities. In addition to the GNCHR, experts from the Greek Ombudsman, the Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE), and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) also participated.

The topics addressed included an understanding of the fundamental principles and applications of Artificial Intelligence, the impact of Artificial Intelligence across various sectors with a particular focus on mobile communications, responsible Artificial Intelligence, principles and strategies for the implementation of responsible Artificial Intelligence, as well as international approaches to the regulation and governance of Artificial Intelligence aimed at creating an enabling environment for connectivity.

The event was organized within the framework of the EETT–GSMA agreement signed in January 2020, which designates the EETT as a European Centre of Excellence for regulatory training, accredited by the GSMA, with the objective of promoting the exchange of best practices and expertise on emerging technological and regulatory challenges in the field of electronic communications.

EETT is the Hellenic Regulatory Authority that regulates, supervises and monitors the electronic communications and postal services sectors, in which it also exercises exclusively all the competences of a competition authority. EETT has been designated as the Digital Services Coordinator (DSC) of Greece, having also other competences related to digital markets.
