The GNCHR at the discussion “Minors’ Safety in the Digital Age” as part of a Google initiative

The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR) participated in the discussion, held on 9 September 2026, on “Minors’ Safety in the Digital Age” with Dr. Garth Graham, Global Head of Healthcare and Public Health / Head of YouTube Health, focusing on the safety and protection of minors in the digital environment. The GNCHR was represented by Dr. Christos Tsevas, Human Rights Advisor.

The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange views on the need for safe, age-appropriate digital experiences, as well as the importance of digital literacy, critical thinking and empowering parents and educators. Particular emphasis was also placed on the value of involving children themselves in the design of solutions and on cooperation among all relevant stakeholders to promote their safety and well-being in the digital environment.

The GNCHR continues to contribute to the dialogue on the protection of human rights and the challenges arising in the digital environment.
