GNCHR Meeting with the Division for Cooperation on Freedom of Expression of the Council of Europe

The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR) welcomed on 8 October 2025 at its offices a delegation from the Division for Cooperation on Freedom of Expression of the Council of Europe, which held a meeting for a discussion focusing on issues of cooperation for the protection of freedom of expression, press freedom, disinformation in the age of artificial intelligence, hate speech, the safety of journalists and the protection of human rights defenders, combating the phenomenon of strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs), other relevant issues of rule of law and democracy and the exchange of good practices.

The meeting was attended by the GNCHR First Vice President, Mr. Yannis Ioannidis, the Coordinator of the Scientific Staff, Eva Tzavala, the GNCHR Human Rights Advisors, Dr. Katerina Charokopou, Dr. Anastasia Chalkia, Dr. Christos Tsevas, the Head of the Division of Cooperation on Freedom of Expression, Ms. Alina Tatarenko, and the Project Officer of the Division, Ms. Evangelia Vasalou.
