Participation of the GNCHR in the Training of Trainers on Combating Crimes with Antisemitic Motives of the EXODUS Project

The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR) participated on Thursday 20 November 2025 in the Training of Trainers on Combating Crimes with Antisemitic Motives of the EXODUS research project.

The GNCHR, under the panel with the title “Cooperation with Independent Authorities and Civil Society” trained police personnel based on the responsibilities and activities of the GNCHR on issues of racist crime, hate speech and discrimination, the GNCHR participation in the National Council against Racism and Intolerance, its relevant positions in the context of the examination of Greece before the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in 2024 and the role of the Racist Violence Recording Network (RVRN). The GNCHR was represented by Dr. Christos Tsevas, GNCHR Human Rights Advisor and Dr. Mariliza Deftou, GNCHR Special Advisor to the RVRN.

The EXODUS project is funded under the Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values (CERV) Programme of the European Union, which runs from 2021 to 2027 and aspires to align with the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life 2021-2030 (COM/2021/615 final), creating a model that strengthens criminal justice responses and promotes best practices across Europe.
