The GNCHR at the Democracy & Culture Foundation Workshop on the use of social media by children and adolescents
The Greek National Commission for Human Rights (GNCHR) participated in the Workshop organized on 14th March 2026 by the Democracy & Culture Foundation (DCF) and the Athens Democracy Forum. The Workshop was a closed meeting of many stakeholders with the aim of formulating conclusions and focused, among other things, on the possible consequences of a total ban on social networks for adolescents under 15 years of age.
The GNCHR was represented by Dr. Katerina Charokopou and Dr. Christos Tsevas, GNCHR Human Rights Advisors at the panel on Ethical and Legal Issues in Light of the Ban with presentations concerning the Ban on Social Media and the International and European Framework on the Rights of the Child and their Protection in the Environment of Social Media and Platforms.
Mr. Charalambos Tsekeris, Chairman of the National Bioethics and Technoethics Commission, member of the GNCHR, also participated in the Workshop.
