GNCHR participation in training for judges on the the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum

On 17 September 2026, GNCHR Director Eva Tzavala took part in the Second Round Table for Administrative Judges, organised by the Greek Council for Refugees in collaboration with the Association of Administrative Judges and with the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, on the topic ‘The EU Pact on Migration and Asylum in the context of judicial protection for vulnerable persons on the move’. Ms Tzavala’s presentation focused on the recent interventions by the GNCHR to strengthen fundamental rights at the borders, including the third-party intervention in the case of A.R.E. v. Greece (2025) before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). A discussion then followed on emerging trends at the ECtHR.
